APP NAME GENERATOR

A name that fits under an app icon.

What makes an app name practical?

Short on screen

Names should remain recognizable in app stores, notifications and icon labels.

Easy to spell

Users should be able to search it after hearing it in a video or conversation.

Ownable identity

Check the domain and app-store landscape before building marketing around the name.

App naming worksheet

An app name needs to survive small spaces: an icon label, a notification and a spoken recommendation. Describe one main task, then use the output to explore concise directions. Save the candidates that still make sense without a slogan attached.

1. Start with the main action

Try “photo editing app” or “daily habit tracker” instead of a long product specification. This tool uses an app-specific combination set and limits generated candidates to ten English letters. This is an internal naming rule, not a statement about any app store’s submission requirements.

2. Check the complete product identity

Place each candidate under a mock icon and in a sample notification. Say it once and ask a listener what to search for. Look for unrelated apps using similar spelling so that your first users do not need extra instructions to find the right product.

3. Keep the web address in the decision

Compare .app, .com and .io candidate links. A domain may support a landing page, help center or account management, but buying one does not publish an app or secure an app-store name. Check those steps independently before spending on launch graphics.

Questions before you decide

Does the tool check app-store availability?

No. It creates name directions and links to domain registrars. It does not query store listings, reserve app names or verify platform branding requirements.

Can I generate Korean app names?

The current generator produces Latin-letter names, including when the interface is Korean. Recognized Korean descriptions map to category vocabulary. It does not provide a Korean-language naming or trademark service.

Why should I export a shortlist?

It lets you compare names with your team without sending your product brief to our server. The text export contains saved names and unverified .com suggestions, not live prices or registered ownership.
